THE HEADLIGTH OF LIFE, KNOWLEDGE.

The supreme truth is eternal. It is defined in the Vedic text books as "that which is the same in the past, the present and future". It reveals itself to one and all directly like scintific truth. It does not depend upon authorities or apostles to establish itself. A scientific truth gains no more weight if all the eminent scientists in the world bear testimony  to it. What is needed today is not hair-splitting interpretations and commentaries on age-old Sanskrit verses but a mere enunciation of the truth in a proper form. The truth itself stands as incontrovertible proof. You need only to exercise your intellect to reflect upon it independenly, discriminate carefully and understand it thoroughly. Thereafter you must apply your knowledge and verify its authenticity in your day today living. A student of chemistry who has not performed experiments himself in the laboratory is no chemist. Similarly, a student of Vedante who has not verified his knowledge of Vedanta in the complex affairs and situations in his own life is no Vedantin (a man living Vedanta).

All that you need to do is to employ your present faculties to progress gradually in the path of knowledge. "The way to more light is the faithful use of what you have". You know that the headlights of an automobile can illumine the road only upto a hundred metres. But the same light can take you hundreds of miles in the darkness of the night. Drive along, the light will continue to illumine  the entire path until you reach your destination. Similarly strive in the present. A little knowledge gained   will efface a little ignorance. Thus proceed gradually. This process will take you to the ultimate truth.
